What grading is
Grading shapes the ground to a planned elevation and slope. Rough grading moves the bulk of the dirt and sets drainage. Finish grading smooths the surface for sod, seed, gravel, or concrete. A building pad is graded flat, compacted, and held above the surrounding ground so water runs off instead of under the slab.
What it is used for
- House, shop, and barn pads before the slab or piers
- Yard regrading to fix water pooling against the house
- Rough grade after land clearing
- Driveway and parking base before gravel
- Leveling for above ground pools, sheds, and carports
- Spreading and compacting fill dirt and topsoil
How we do it
- Set grade stakes or shoot elevations with a laser level
- Cut high ground and fill low ground with the skid steer blade and the mini excavator
- Compact fill in lifts so the pad does not settle
- Slope the finished surface so water runs away from structures
- Spread topsoil and finish grade for sod or seed when the job calls for it
Equipment
- Tracked skid steer with 6 way dozer blade and bucket
- Tracked mini excavator for cuts, ditches, and loading
- Laser level
- $1,000,000 liability coverage
Service area
Based in Little Rock. Serving all of Arkansas from Little Rock. Most work is in Pulaski, Saline, Faulkner, Lonoke, Grant, Jefferson, and Garland counties, including Benton, Bryant, Conway, Cabot, Sheridan, Searcy, Pine Bluff, and Hot Springs.
Pricing
Priced per job after a site visit or photos. Cost depends on the area, how much dirt has to move, whether fill is hauled in, and the finish needed. A rough grade after clearing costs less than a compacted pad to a set elevation.
